Samia Khan, Ph.D. (University of Massachusetts) has been a recipient of the New Scholar Award from the Canadian Society for Study in Education and the Prime Minister’s Award of Canada for Teaching Excellence in Science, Technology, and Mathematics. Her current research interests are on how people learn with digital technology, simulation technology and models of future states, who does and does not do science, and how we can teach science. Peer-reviewed journal articles appear in Journal of Technology and Teacher Education, Journal of Science Education and Technology, Computers and Education, Educational Technology, Research, and Development, and Technology, Instruction, Cognition and Learning. In recent years, her research has been cited in Tech Trends as top research that has shaped the field of educational technology and teacher education (Bakir, 2016).

Dr. Khan is the author of ETEC 530 and ETEC 533, and served as MET Director in the 2021-2022 academic year.
