Master of Educational Technology

The Master of Educational Technology program offers a comprehensive curriculum exploring topics relevant to learning technologies and eLearning. MET graduates have a sophisticated understanding of how digital learning functions within different organizational, cultural, and learner contexts.

To earn a Master of Educational Technology degree, you must complete ten 3-credit courses, including four required core courses and six elective courses.

  • New students are accepted into the MET program three times per year in January, May and September.
  • Students typically complete the Master of Educational Technology degree in 2-3 years (and must complete within five years).
  • You may credit up to 6 credits of non-MET courses or upper level undergraduate courses, online or on campus, at UBC or at another university, towards your MET degree with approval of the MET Academic Advisor.
  • This course-based Master of Educational Technology degree does not require completion of a thesis or major final project, but students keen to complete independent projects may choose to complete up to 6 credits of supervised independent study.
