Tuition & Fees

Tuition is charged on a per-course basis. Course materials and annual student fees are not included in the tuition fee. Students in both the MET degree program and the Graduate certificate programs pay the same tuition for ETEC courses.

Tuition fees are in Canadian dollars, are reviewed annually by the UBC Board of Governors, and are subject to change.

Current tuition fees for ETEC courses for domestic and international students in the MET program and graduate certificates, based on year of admission, are listed in the UBC Calendar tuition fee section for Specialized Master’s Degrees. (All ETEC courses are 3 credits each. To calculate total tuition per course, check the ‘per credit’ fee listed in the UBC calendar, and multiply by 3.)

Tuition payments can be made online, by mail, or through your Canadian financial institution.

Student Fees

Students in the Master of Educational Technology program are also assessed a small Capital Improvement Fund fee and the Graduate Student Society fee, annually. Graduate certificate students do not pay these fees. See the UBC Calendar for more information on student fees.

Course Deposit

A $250 non-refundable deposit is required each academic session before students are able to register in courses (these funds will then be credited towards your full tuition payment for that term). Registered students will find due dates for tuition payments via their UBC Student Services account.
