In support of the UBC Indigenous Strategic Plan and the continued commitment to Indigenize the MET program, the MET Award for Indigenous Students has been developed to help create pathways for Indigenous students to earn graduate-level credentials.
This annual award will cover the cost of tuition for either the 30-credit master’s degree or 15-credit graduate certificate for an Indigenous student. Current MET students are welcome to apply as well as new applicants to the program.
The first award will be issued for the January 2024 program start, with an application deadline of September 23, 2023. Going forward, the award will be given our every September, starting in September 2024.
The Award along with the Anti-Racism Speak Series and Virtual Inclusive Makerspace are part of the offerings and initiatives MET offering to address equity, diversity, inclusion and decolonization. Read more about MET’s EDID offerings and initiatives.
