Welcome Dr. Mark Edwards, MET Interim Director

Dr. Mark Edwards

As announced by Dr. Jan Hare, Dean, pro tem, Dr. Mark Edwards will be leading the MET team as the new Interim Director. Dr. Edward’s role began on May 1, 2023 and will last two years.

Dr. Edwards is currently also the Coordinator, Indigenous Education Initiatives; Coordinator, Academic Misconduct; Chair, EdD Management and Admissions Committee; and a lecturer in the EDAL program in EDST.

Dr. Edwards has been a member of the senior leadership team in the Faculty for many years. He was the Director, Academic Initiatives supporting the Associate Dean, Academic, and Innovation for the past year. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Dean, Professional Development & Community Engagement from 2012 to 2022. Dr. Edwards began working with the MET program in 2006 though his role as Director of External Programs and Learning Technologies and has been involved through various roles since. Prior to joining the Faculty, Dr. Edwards was a high school teacher/counsellor/librarian/administrator in the BC K-12 education system.
